What is it?

If you are looking for a skin resurfacing treatment to diminish imperfections, tighten pores and eliminate impurities on the face such as blackheads whilst simultaneously plumping and tightening the skin, the carbon facial treatment could be the answer.
How does it work?
A layer of liquid carbon is then applied to the skin, as the carbon dries it attaches itself to dirt, oil and dead skin cells. Once dried, the carbon is ready to meet our laser.
The light from the laser is highly attracted to the carbon particles. The carbon absorbs the light energy from our laser, causing it to vaporise. As the laser makes contact with the carbon, you will hear a loud audible ‘crack’. Although loud, this is nothing to worry about, and is just the sound of our laser vaporising the carbon.
As the heat from our laser is pulsed deep into the skin, our skin’s natural healing mechanism is activated in the deeper layers. Cellular turnover is stimulated, and fibroblasts are ignited to begin regenerating collagen and elastin. Over a few weeks to months, the regenerative results will continue.

We suggest moderate aftercare, this includes using sun protection (SPF 50 or greater), avoiding hot water, swimming, sauna’s, and hot tubs. Natural mineral makeup can be applied in just a matter of a few hours after the treatment.

The Carbon Facial is extremely safe, you can resume your daily routine immediately after the treatment.
Side effects are minimal, you may experience some slight redness and tingling although this will clear up within a few hours and can be soothed with some aloe vera gel. We recommend keeping the skin clean and dry while it is red, but once this has cleared up, makeup can be worn. Try to avoid oily makeup as this will clog your pores; natural mineral foundations are always better.
Your results can be enhanced further with minimal sun exposure, reduction in stress and the absence of smoking. We recommend using SPF 50 sun cream to protect the area for at least 1 month following your treatment, as failure to do so could result in hyperpigmentation.
